Constituent Letter
Dear Friends and Constituents of Albuquerque City Council District 8,
I am excited to announce my candidacy for the open seat of the Albuquerque City Council, District 8. Many of you have reached out to me, encouraging me to turn my efforts to some of the larger issues that we struggle with as a community. I know that we are all determined to make Albuquerque a better, safer City where we can all live and watch our families grow. I am honored to join in this fight with you. I believe in hard work and I am ready to work harder than anyone else to make sure your/our voice is heard at City Hall.
I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have encouraged me to run. I promise to listen to all of you and to work tirelessly every day to make Albuquerque a better and safer place to live and work for all of us and our families.
As a former State Representative, I will bring valuable experience to the City Council from day one. I have demonstrated my ability to work in a bipartisan manner to pass important legislation that benefits all Albuquerqueans. In these unprecedented times, when businesses are still recovering from the pandemic, and the City is struggling with the worst crime epidemic our City has ever seen, we need to work together more than ever. I am committed to bringing the EXPERIENCE and RESULTS necessary to accomplish positive CHANGE in our city.
I am running for Council because I love Albuquerque. I grew up here, attended Albuquerque Public Schools, and graduated from the University of New Mexico. With your support and help, I want to fight for positive change for our families and businesses. I believe that by working together, we can become the best city in the country. My top priorities are PUBLIC SAFETY, HOMELESSNESS (behavioral health/addiction), and ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. I have been on the front lines fighting for change in our community for many years.
You deserve a Councilor you can trust, which is why I am proud to be running as a publicly financed candidate and why I will be asking for community support as I go door to door. Most importantly, I want to serve you. We are in this fight for our City together. Therefore, your priorities will be my priorities, and I want to hear them. I look forward to getting to know everyone in District 8, and I will be a strong voice for all of us. Please feel free to call or text me anytime on my cell at 505-550-3868. I invite you to join my campaign in #WORKING4CHANGE. Together, we will bring experience, results, and the change that we want and need to the Albuquerque City Council.
The greatest honor and most humbling experience of my working life was serving you in the New Mexico House of Representatives. Now, my greatest hope is to earn your confidence again and serve as your next Albuquerque City Councilor for District 8. I have enjoyed fighting food insecurity in our community and being a bridge of communication between our community and the Police Department. Now, I need your help to create the change we want to see for our beloved City and our District 8 community.
Thank you for your support, and I look forward to earning your vote!
